Faced with an unprecedented series of attacks on our American democracy by the current presidential administration and its related political movement, the people of Central Illinois come together in common cause to defend our republic against a present authoritarian threat.

Democracy 309 unites the people of Central Illinois in a shared commitment to human rights, strengthening our democracy, and protecting and empowering people to exercise the rights guaranteed in the U.S. Constitution. Using nonviolent disciplines and respecting various viewpoints, our network collaborates to uphold these rights by amplifying each other’s voices and actions
